I am Sara, originally from New Zealand, but now travelling the world as a 'digital nomad' and working remotely as a Career Strategist.

I have a Bachelor of Applied Management majoring in Strategic Management and also have a Diploma in Adult Learning and Teaching.

 

I have been in many forms of paid employment since I was 14 and along the way have experienced and learnt a thing or two when it comes to careers.

 

I have had various career changes, post-secondary school I worked in the hospitality industry as a chef, but also extended my career portfolio by gaining positions waitering, bar work, functions and events and also had my own successful hospitality business in New Zealand.  

 

My Career Portfolio has taken me around the world in paid employment and self-employment and aside from working in the hospitality industry, I have also worked in higher education and economic development.

I have changed my career, I have pivoted my career, worked with career goals, I have been made redundant, I have retrained and re-started my career. 

 

Through all of this I have searched for jobs, applied for jobs, been rejected, revamped my CV more times than I care to remember, and I have had to prepare for interviews.

 

I have also been a hiring manger, so I have seen and experienced recruitment from the ‘other’ side of the process, including what CVs stood out, the value of a person’s personal brand and how they came across in an interview.
